Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, apparently felt pity for her sister-in-law Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. Prince Harry's wife felt that the mother of Prince William's three children was forced to do those post-birth photos in public.
A friend of Meghan told Page Six that the former Hollywood star felt sorry for Kate as she had to face the media and look ultra-perfect just a few hours after giving birth. This is supposed to be part of the royal protocol. Fortunately, since Prince Harry, Meghan's husband is not directly in line to the throne, then they won't have to deal with the same protocols.
Instead, House Sussex have chosen to keep the birth of their baby a private affair. The couple sent an official announcement to the press that there will be no photo opportunities for them.
"Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private," the statement read. "The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family."
It may be a while, therefore, for the public to images of Baby Sussex. Significant time should have passed when they do announce that their first born has arrived.
The decision has been met with different reactions from the public. While some are bummed that Meghan and Harry have chosen not to be photographed right after the baby's birth, others are more understanding of their need for privacy.
Meanwhile, Prince William had a funny response when he was asked about the birth of Baby Sussex. During a royal tour in New Zealand, people wanted to know if his sister-in-law has already had her baby. The Duke of Cambridge joked that the public will likely know this first before him because he doesn't always have his phone on him, People reported.
Before the prince left for New Zealand, he and his wife visited Meghan and Harry at their new home in Frogmore Cottage last Easter Sunday. The pregnant Suits star wasn't able to attend the church services, which also happened to celebrate the Queen's birthday.
The visit belied reports that the sons of Princess Diana are having a feud. Rumors stated that William cautioned Harry that things were moving too fast for him and Meghan when they were still dating.
