Younger season 6 is coming back on television, and TV Land has announced that the new installment will begin its run on Wednesday, June 12. The show was supposed to be moving to Paramount Network in a revamp at Viacom, but TV Land has decided it will instead be retained in its original home.
The show will be the only original scripted TV series on TV Land. The network confirmed the release date for Younger season 6 in a cool video featuring all the main cast, such as Sutton Foster (as Liza Miller) and Hillary Duff (as Kelsey Peters).
Among the changes that viewers can expect for Younger season 6 involves Kelsey's new responsibility as the head of Millennial Print. Naturally, as the new publisher, Kelsey will go through a few challenges that will test her ability to lead. But based on the teaser, she might have to end up firing someone -- will Kelsey be comfortable with decisions like this?
Liza, on the other hand, will also have a different life with Charles (played by Peter Hermann) after he quit his job and professed his love for her at the end of the last season. However, Foster hinted that there would be some growing pains in her character's relationship with her beau in Younger season 6.
"Liza's still trying to fight for her happy ending with Charles. How fun is it going to be without all the secrets? We'll see," the actress teased in an interview with TV Line.
Creator Darren Star confirmed that Lisa and Charles' relationship would not be perfect. There will be issues springing for this couple, including Lisa's small bed.
Meanwhile, Josh's (played by Nico Tortorella) life will also be turned upside down after finding out from Claire (played Anastasia Barzee) that she's pregnant with his baby. He'll be taking a paternity test in Younger season 6 after some prodding from Maggie (played by Debi Mazar).
Younger season 6 could have a musical episode since most of the cast have a theater background and Duff started her career as a pop star. Star teased that there's no reason why they cannot do this special since the show has an amazingly talented cast.
In the past, the cast members sang some songs within the episodes. This time, however, it should be a full-blown musical production.
