The upcoming Bond 25 movie doesn't have a confirmed title yet, but reports reveal its story will be revolving on genetic warfare. Set for an April 2020 premiere date, the 25th iteration of the James Bond films will be Daniel Craig's fifth and final outing as Agent 007.

In April, Bond 25 producers unveiled the details of the movie sans its official title, as per The Hollywood Reporter. Confirmed to play the villain will be Oscar-winner Rami Malek who told fans of the franchise that his character will not give the iconic British agent an easy time.

The synopsis of Bond 25 features a semi-retired James Bond who has been spending a peaceful life in Jamaica. However, an old friend from the CIA approaches him for help as a scientist with a "dangerous new technology" has been kidnapped.

Insiders told Daily Mail that this new technology would center on genetic warfare and genetic engineering. Killing Eve season 1 writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been tasked to brush up the screenplay.

"There aren't many people in the world bright enough to bring some humor to the topic of genetics and the Human Genome Project," the insider said about Waller-Bridge's hiring.

The scribe is only the second female screenwriter for a Bond movie in its 25-year history. Waller-Bridge promised Deadline that the Bond 25 movie would be treating women properly, even if the James Bond identity per se has to remain true to his character.

The previous Bond films, dating back to the days of Sean Connery, have received many criticisms for its treatment of women. There are clips on YouTube compiling all the times that Agent 007 was inappropriate to his leading ladies in the films.

Meanwhile, production for Bond 25 has been temporarily halted due to Craig's ankle injury. Craig slipped and fell awkwardly as he as sprinting during production in Jamaica. The 51-year-old actor complained that he was in extreme pain on his ankle.

According to Variety, the actor had to undergo minor surgery and a two-week post-operative recovery period. This incident, however, will not delay the movie's screening in 2020.

Bond 25 will also bring back some of the actors from the previous movies such as Ralph Fiennes (as M), Naomie Harris (as Eve Moneypenny), Ben Whishaw (as Q) and Lea Seydoux (as Madeleine Swann). Aside from Malek, the upcoming film will also feature Jeffrey Wright, Ana de Armas, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen, and Rory Kinnear.
