Zoey Johnson (played by Yara Shahidi) is having a bad year in college. Her crisis will not let up just yet, as Grown-ish season 2 continues its run on Freeform this Wednesday, June 5, at 8:00 p.m. after a two-month hiatus.
According to the episode synopsis for Grown-ish season 2 episode 12, Zoey will experience another blow in her young life. She will discover that her ex-boyfriend Aaron (played by Trevor Jackson) and her best friend Ana (played by Francia Raisa) have been seeing each other since the break, thus causing friction in their friendship.
A teaser for Grown-ish season 2 episode 12 showed Aaron and Ana getting naked together, as per Entertainment Weekly. Zoey could only reply with a stunned one-word sentence to her ex-boyfriend when he confessed about the hookup.
Zoey is still reeling from her heartbreak over getting caught for cheating in an exam in the previous episode of Grown-ish season 2. On top of that, her parents decided to cut off her allowance if she couldn't take hold of her academic life.
Now, she has to face her days with her best friend and ex-boyfriend hooking up together. But there's a reason why this show is called Grown-ish because it's about learning to deal with whatever life throws in a mature way.
The show dabbles in imparting life lessons that will prepare Zoey for adult life. It's also about taking responsibility and making amends but told in a humorous and comedic manner.
Meanwhile, People confirmed that Grown-ish season 2 will have a controversial guest star in an episode airing in July. Jordyn Woods has apparently scored her first acting gig outside of the reality TV show Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
Woods will reportedly play a freshman student named Dee, who is described as a "sweet soul with a soft-spoken and sincere vulnerability," in Grown-ish season 2 episode 20. The budding actress is expected to appear on July 24. The report also revealed that Woods' scenes will mostly be with Jackson but it doesn't say whether this will be another romantic entanglement for Aaron.
The up-and-coming star is best known to reality TV viewers as the former best friend of Kylie Jenner. Woods figured in a cheating scandal with Khloe Kardashian's ex, Tristan Thompson, in February. Keeping Up With Kardashian season 16, however, has yet to discuss the affair on the show.
