Seg-El (played by Cameron Cuffe), Superman's great grandfather many times over, will encounter more enemies on Krypton season 2. Set to premiere on Sunday, June 12, Syfy has recently released a new trailer unveiling these new villains.
Brainiac (played by Blake Ritson), Doomsday, Lobo (played by Emmett J. Scanlan) and Zod (played by Colin Salmon) will be wreaking havoc on Krypton season 2. As seen in the teaser, these villains will make it harder for Seg-El to protect his planet and future generations.
Salmon said in the teaser that his character doesn't believe he's the bad guy. Brainiac, on the other hand, will form a symbiotic co-dependence with Seg-El for both of them to survive in Krypton season 2. Lobo, the bounty hunter, will bring madness to the new season, as does Doomsday, the CGI creation that the people behind the show have painstakingly created during the different stages of production.
"Every single one of these villains brings their own unique threat to the world of Krypton," Cuffe said.
According to press release, Seg-El's home planet will have quite a different capital city in Kandor with Zod as the leader in Krypton season 2. Superman's grandfather will then try to unite the resistance, which has been widely dispersed into different factions in the season 1 finale.
Meanwhile, executive producer Cam Welsh explained why everyone on Krypton sound British. The most realistic answer would be that most of the cast members are based in Great Britain. However, Welsh said in a post on Twitter that the characters on the show are speaking "Kryptonese," which sounds similar to British.
Krypton debuted on Syfy last March 2018 with 10 episodes. Created by David S. Goyer based on the DC Comic superhero's tale, the show is about House of El and features the great, great grandfather of Kal-El, who is otherwise known as Superman.
In Krypton, Seg-El rises through the ranks after his family was ostracized. The saga focuses on his fight to bring back his family honor and at the same time restore the order in the planet.
The show stars Georgina Campbell, Shaun Sipos, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo and Rasmus Hardiker. Krypton also featured notable guest stars such as Rupert Graces and Paula Malcomson as the mother and father of Seg-El.
