Fans of Legacies season 2 have been anticipating the show's return this fall. However, it's not just the viewers who are quite excited, as the actors also expressed their eagerness for the second season.
Matt Davis told TV Guide that he has a wish list for Legacies season 2. He is still hoping that his character, Alaric, will have a surprise visitor in Caroline Forbes (played by Candice King), the surrogate mother of his twin daughters, Lizzie (played by Jenny Boyd) and Josie (played by Kaylee Bryant).
However, the actor also acknowledged that this might not be a possible guest appearance for the actress for now. In real life, King has a growing toddler who has been her focus more than acting these days.
"Candice [is] a mom, and she's enjoying her life right now," Davis said. "[But] she's always welcome to come through if that's what she wants to do because Caroline would be a welcome addition to our storyline."
Davis is also hoping that Alaric will finally have a healthy love life in Legaciesseason 2. He hasn't had much luck in this department since The Vampire Diaries, and the spinoff The Originals since the women in his life have either died or have turned to vampires.
Meanwhile, Danielle Rose Russell (as Hope Mikaelson) also has her wish list for Legacies season 2. She wants her character to develop a relationship with Josie so that the show could also have a gender fluid personality to represent the minority.
In another interview, Russell hinted that Hope could be exploring her darker side in Legacies season 2. She's eager to see how her character would deal with challenges and traumatic experiences like her parents.
Meanwhile, series creator Julie Plec has teased the possibility of having more supernaturals, demigods, demons and other mythical creatures in Legacies season 2. The writers have been exploring these by looking at references in books and historical journals.
"It's certainly our intention, conceptually, to have a similar structure for the next season," Plec told TV Line about the plans for Legacies season 2. "Without giving away too much about how or why, we definitely like the idea that things we wouldn't expect to exist in our little Vampire Diaries universe keep knocking on the door of the Salvatore School and causing problems."
The CW has scheduled Legacies season 2 for Thursdays at 9 p.m. The network will likely announce the show's fall premiere date by August.
