Rafael Solano (played by Justin Baldoni) might have given up on his relationship with Jane (played by Gina Rodriguez) in Jane the Virgin season 5. As a dad, however, his making double the effort to find help for his child, Mateo.

In Jane the Virgin season 5 episode 10, which aired last Wednesday, May 29, Rafael and Jane learned that Mateo has ADHD. Despite their differences as ex-romantic partners, Rafael and Jane promised to each other they will properly co-parent their son, especially in this most trying time.

According to the episode synopsis for Jane the Virgin season 5 episode 11, which airs on June 5, the two adults will figure out a way to help Mateo with his condition. After months of agonizing over what's bothering Mateo, they finally know the best course of treatment for their son.  

Jane the Virgin season 5 episode 11 will also find the lead character comforting Petra (played by Yael Grobglas) whose relationship with JR (played by Rosario Dawson) has just ended. In the teaser, Petra is seen crying on Jane's shoulder and quipping that she's almost like a Villanueva because she's been crying too much. 

At home, on the other hand, Jane will feel uncomfortable with her grandmother Alba (played by Ivonne Coll) and her new husband Jorge (played by Alfonso DiLuca). The two have been behaving as any typical newlyweds that it completely changes the vibe in the Villanueva home. 

Meanwhile, Jane's father Rogelio (played by Jaime Camil) will encounter new problems with his co-star River (played by Brooke Shields) in the upcoming episode. Jane's mother Xo (played by Andrea Navedo), on the other hand, will need to visit the clinic to find out the results of her PET scan after her cancer treatments. 

The CW confirmed that the final episode of Jane the Virgin season 5 will air on Wednesday, July 31, as per TV LineBefore the airing at 9:00 p.m., the show will have a retrospective episode at 8:00 p.m. to celebrate the series' highs and low. 

In 2018, the network announced that Jane the Virgin was ending its run with a fifth and final season. Rodriguez toldVanity Fair that the show changed her career and made her dreams come true, but it also changed the TV landscape when a minority character, a Latina, became the main star.
