Netflix's has confirmed the release date for its Spanish series Money Heist part 3. Also known as La Casa de Papel, the show starring Miguel Herran (as Rio) will also reunite the original gang to pull off yet another heist.
The streaming platform announced the release of Money Heist part 3 in a teaser. Set for Friday, July 19, the objective of the operation this time around is not about acquiring more money but bringing the family together.
"We've managed to escape, but now comes the most difficult part -- surviving," Salva El Professor (played by Alvaro Monte) said in the teaser. The clips also hinted that Tokyo (played by Ursula Corbero) has teamed up with El Professor as they cook up a plan to save Rio against a Spanish militia together.
Viewers will recall that Rio was abducted by Spanish forces in Money Heist part 2. He and Tokyo thought they could live in seclusion in an island somewhere far off the main city, but these forces invaded their hideaway.
Tokyo managed to escape the island, but Rio was captured and tortured by the Spanish forces. Now, his crime family is plotting to get him back, and they appear to be fully prepared with new ammunition. El Professor, after all, said that he plans to wreak havoc when they rescue Rio.
The teaser also hinted the return of Berlin (played by Pedro Alonso) who is surprisingly still alive. He was shot to death in Money Heist part 2, but part 3 should explain what happened to him.
Netflix renewed Money Heist part 3 in April 2018 after gaining a large following for the first two installments. Though the show is in Spanish language, Netflix confirmed that the series is one of its top non-English programs in its global platform.
Created by Alex Pina, Money Heist follows a team of criminals who have been recruited by El Professor to carry out a heist in the Royal Mint of Spain in the first and second part. Money Heist part 3 will shift its story to focus on the rescue.
Morte revealed that he did not expect the show's positive response from Netflix subscribers, as per Deadline. In Argentina, some fans have a tattoo of his face on their skin.
Money Heist part 3 will drop on Netflix beginning Friday, July 19. The first and second parts, on the other hand, are still accessible for viewing on the platform.
