Just like any regular family, the Royal family also treasure their members. Even though they have obligations to do for their monarchy, it is important for them to have a good relationship with their family members.
While it’s pretty clear that Kate Middleton gets along with her Royal in-laws, many are wondering if Prince William is also close to the family of the Duchess of Cambridge. Even though they are part of the Royal family now, Kate’s parents and siblings don’t usually go out and spend time with the Queen and other members of the monarchy except for very important occasions.
With that said, we don’t see much public interaction between Prince William and Kate Middleton’s family. So is he close to Michael, Carole, James, and Pippa Middleton?
Although Prince William and Kate Middleton have been married for eight years, the pair had dated for several years, so they spent time with each other’s families for more or less a decade. And since the Duchess of Cambridge is very close to her younger sister Pippa, it is safe to assume that the Duke of Cambridge is close to her as well.
Pippa even shared that even though Prince William and her sister have important roles in the Royal family, they are still as tight as before. “We’re very close, and we support each other and get each other’s opinions,” she said.
As for Kate’s younger brother James, he previously expressed how much Prince William inspired him to speak out about mental health as he is battling with depression. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge patron the charity Heads Together. That is enough proof to say that James and Prince William have a good relationship.
“We’re a really close family,” James said. “And actually, we see each other and speak on the phone all the time, the odd Sunday lunch, or pop in for coffee or something like that.”
Lastly, Kate’s parents. And yes, Prince William also gets along with his father-in-law, Michael, and mother-in-law, Carole. According to reports, the Duke of Cambridge even promised Kate Middleton before they got married that her family would always be involved in their lives. And he certainly kept that promise as they can be seen in several Royal events and even went on vacations with them.
