Insatiable season 2 has been in production since the start of March 2019, and as the middle of summer rolls, filming is expected to be nearly finished. What will this Netflix revenge drama deliver to the fans in the upcoming installment? Star Debby Ryan spills the beans in an interview, including her rumored directorial stint.

According to Just Jared, Ryan may have directed two episodes of her hit Netflix series based on a couple of photo evidence on the set, where has a director's chair. Though the streaming platform has not confirmed this as a fact, the actress has mentioned in past media appearances that she has been learning the ropes behind the scenes.

Before filming Insatiable season 2, Ryan told WWD that she joined a mentorship program under showrunner Ryan Murphy. She was, in fact, on the set of his hit FOX series 9-1-1 and was shadowing one of the directors.

"I haven't even talked about it with my friends, because it is so special," Ryan said about directing. "[This program] gives you unparalleled access and you ask the questions and learn the process, all the way from prep to post-production."

Netflix renewed Insatiable season 2 in the fall of 2018, way before her mentorship, hence the star has been prepared to work behind the scenes ahead of filming the upcoming installment. The show, created by Lauren Gussis, was almost on the verge of cancellation when Netflix scooped it up from The CW, its initial home.

In April, Alex Landi was cast as the latest addition in Insatiable season 2, per Deadline. Details to her character, however, have not been unveiled and no one else has been announced as a new addition for the second season. Expectedly, aside from Ryan and Landi, Dallas Roberts (as Bob Armstrong), Christopher Gorham (as Bob Barnard), Alyssa Milano (as Coralee Huggins), Michael Provost (as Brick Armstrong), Sarah Colonna (as Angie Bladell), and Erinn Westbrook (as Magnolia Barnard) are returning for Insatiableseason 2.

Meanwhile, there is still no teaser for Insatiable season 2 given that production is still wrapping up. What's On Netflix initially projected that the show would be ready on the platform by August 2019, similar to the first season release but it looks like that will not happen.

Insatiable follows the story of a woman named Patty (Ryan) who has been bullied for her weight. After slimming down, however, Patty is out for payback against the people who have made her feel bad as she joined a beauty pageant.
