Ever since FOX canceled The Gifted last April, fans of the X-men series have been hoping for a revival on a different network or platform. But this hope has been dimmed now that some of the cast members are moving on with new shows thus sealing the fate of The Gifted season 3.

Stephen Moyer, who played the father of two mutant kids in The Gifted, is currently filming Fortunate Son in Canada. He'll play CIA Agent Vern Lang in this series about an American fugitive in the 1960s. The show is expected to air by Winter 2020, according to CBC.

Amy Acker is on the show What Just Happened??! on FOX. The series is a parody of an after-show discussion about a fictional drama series titled The Flare. Acker's role is Dr. Kathleen Shepherd, who appears in the sixth episode.

Natalie Alyn Lind is already working on the second season of Tell Me a Story for CBS All Access. According to Deadline, she will play Ashley, inspired by the fairy tale character of Sleeping Beauty. In this modern retelling, Ashley is an up and coming country music star who experiences a brutal attack and has been traumatized.

After starring in The Gifted, Percy Hynes White appeared in an episode of the Twilight Zone revival on CBS All Access. He is currently working on the set of the TV movie titled A Family's Nightmare.

Jamie Chung will be seen next on Lovecraft Country on HBO. She has a recurring role in the series, which will be headlined by Jonathan Majors and Jurnee Smollett-Bell. The actress also has two movies in the pipeline - Windfall and The Misfits.

The Gifted season 3 would have been part of the recent Comic-Con had it been renewed. The show, produced by Marvel Television under Disney, was reportedly being shopped for a new home but nothing definite was undertaken.

In February, creator Matt Nix admitted thatThe Gifted didn't have strong ratings to warrant another season on a network. As a genre show, it was ambitious, but it couldn't find the right audience on FOX.

The Gifted follows a couple living in the suburbs whose mundane lives when they learned that their teenage children are mutants with superpowers. The family was forced to hide and join an underground group of mutants to survive the government crackdown against non-humans.

The show debuted on FOX last October 2017 and aired for 29 episodes in total.
