Starz just made an official announcement that the Outlander season 5 cast will be heading to this year’s Comic-Con in New York. This will be the second time in a row that the drama television series joined the entertainment and comic book convention.
The network took to Twitter to confirm that Outlander season 5 cast will be coming to 2019 Comic-Con. The post also revealed that they would be bringing one of the show’s fans to the highly-popular event.
“We’re excited to announce that not only are we going to #NYCC this year, but that we’re bringing one of you with us! Submit your original #Outlander art on Twitter using #OutlanderContestNYCC for the chance to have it featured at our talent signing where you will meet the cast,” the post read.
The network also added on the comments section that the chosen fan would enjoy everything for free, including travel, hotel, convention passes, and a signed copy of the winning art. As expected, many were excited to join the contest to meet the Outlander season 5 cast in person, and even spend time with them. But there were also fans of the show who were pretty upset that they’re not talented enough artistically to join.
The 2019 New York Comic Con will begin on Thursday, October 3 and ends on Sunday, October 6. However, Starz did not specify which day the Outlander season 5 cast will be present. Also, they did not confirm who among the cast will be at the event.
Since Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are the main characters of Outlander season 5, fans are expecting them to be there, which is highly possible unless there’s some sort of an emergency or prior engagements. For now, the only confirmed detail is that Outlander season 5 cast will be heading to 2019 New York Comic-Con.
Meanwhile, Starz president and CEO Chris Albrecht previously revealed that Outlander was picked up for two more seasons (five and six). “Fans can rest assured their beloved Claire and Jamie will be back facing new challenges, adversaries, and adventures in seasons five and six as we delve into American history and continue the story of the Frasers as they settle in the New World,” he said.
