Google's next Pixel phones have a new feature that people might not even know they need, but it's actually genius. It's a feature that will mean users will never have to listen to annoying hold music ever again.

According to 9to5Google, the new Pixel phones might come with an Assistant that is literally an assistant. It will wait on hold for the users. A reliable source shared that when users are placed on hold, they can just push a button, and then Google Assistant will know to take over being patient for them. It will take over the call and then inform the user that an actual human is already at the other end of the call.

This essentially means never holding up the phone and rolling one's eyes as to how long the hold is taking or how tacky and repetitive the streaming sounds are.

While the new feature sounds impressive, nothing concrete has been set. There are no details as to how it will come out. Google's Pixel 4 is already set with new exciting features - face unlock and gesture recognition. They are all expected to come out later this year. However, the new Google Assistant feature has no such date set yet. It is expected that it will be unveiled much later.

This is not surprising, though, Google has already been experimenting in the past with various features meant to make routine phone calls where one can be placed on hold less annoying. One such development in the past is Duplex; wherein Google Assistant can book appointments and reservations on behalf of the user. Duplex also has a call-screening feature, so Google Assistant can already find out who is on the other line and let the user know this even before the user picks up the phone and glances at the screen.

Also, even though Pixel 4 is not slated for release at least a month from now, there are already some images that fans can fixate themselves over. These photos show the backside of the phone, revealing that there is going to be a larger camera bump. Moreover, the upcoming phone will use Google's newest radar-based gesture recognition technology, allowing the users to control the phone without even picking it up or holding it in their hand.

Leaked photos of the Pixel 4 also revealed that it will have an orange variant, as reported by the Verge.
