The premiere of Avatar 2 might be more than a year away from now, but fans are already hoping to learn more about the highly anticipated sequel that's taking more than a decade to complete. Luckily, there have been some new updates about James Cameron's new project.

Interestingly, it might confirm that Jake Sully will be forced to abandon the safety of the Tree of Souls to reach out to the other inhabitants of Pandora. But, will the Omaticaya manage to work with the other clans who live in the oceans of the planet?

One of the established details about Avatar 2 confirms that the sequel will take place 12 years into the future as Jake Sully has now established himself as an effective leader of the Omaticaya. On the other hand, there could be major conflicts coming as humans return on Pandora.

This could be the reason why Jake and Neytiri are forced to reach out to the other clans for their help. However, the reveal of the sequel's working title may have confirmed that it is the other clans who are in trouble, and the Omaticaya could be trying to warn them of the impending danger.

A new report has revealed that the Avatar sequels have been given the working title "Coral," which is undoubtedly a reference to the Metkayina, a free-diving clan that dwells in the oceans of Pandora. The clan, which is led by Cliff Curtis' Tonowari, is expected to play a major role in all three sequels. Unfortunately, this could also mean that something terrible will happen to the surviving Omaticaya. Will the Resources Development Administration (RDA), led by Giovanni Ribisi's Parker Selfridge, figure out a way to get back at Jake and his clan that will lead to multiple casualties?

There are speculations that one of the reasons why Jake Sully and the Omaticaya decide to reach out to the Metkayina is because the RDA has returned and successfully destroyed the Tree of Souls. The defeated Omaticaya could then be forced to leave their destroyed home and beg the Metkayina to take in the survivors in Avatar 2. Unfortunately, the humans might eventually turn to the oceans to find more resources to mine, and Jake would need to help rally the free-diving clan to fight for their territories.

Can Jake Sully convince the Metkayina about the dangers of trusting humans? Find out when Avatar 2 finally premieres on December 17, 2021.
