Since the Duchess of Cambridge had already been a part of the royal family so much longer than Prince Harry's wife, she usually gets all the praises while the Duchess of Sussex is being criticized over anything.
These unnecessary comparisons led to rumors that Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are feuding. While there are not enough proofs to confirm these claims, many are convinced that the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex are at war. In fact, Prince William and Prince Harry are also speculated to be less close than they were before because of their wives.
PR expert Anthony Burr said that social media played a “significant role” in the alleged feud of the duchesses. “Undoubtedly, social media has played a significant role in pitting Meghan against Kate in a social media war,” he shared. “We were seeing a ‘team Meghan vs team Kate’ on social media channels and also on media websites.”
Now, things have gotten out of hand as fans of Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle took the feud further and are fighting themselves. “These remarks from the ‘haters’ were not just about Meghan and Kate – but these ‘haters’ then started having online and open vitriolic dialogue to each other, simply because one supported Kate whilst the other supported Meghan,” Burr said.
Liking someone more than the other person is a normal feeling. However, what made these royal fans unreasonable is the fact that they are creating a nonexistent feud. They believe in these speculations so much that they became very aggressive about it to protect Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.
Unfortunately, we may not see the end of Kate Middleton vs. Meghan Markle as people enjoy talking about rivalries. Since juicy and controversial content would always get more attention than some happy news, media will never get tired of pitting the royals against each other.
Despite rumors saying that the Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are feuding, a previous report shared that they are actually on “great terms.”
“Meghan and Kate are on great terms,” a HollywoodLife source said. “Kate has been and continues to be, a big help to Meghan. She’s very sympathetic to her circumstances, as far as joining the Royal family by marriage, so she’s always gone out of her way to make her feel welcome.”
