Kpop acts bagged major awards at the BreakTudo Awards held in Brazil. Among the top winners of the night were BLACKPINK, EXO, BTS, TXT, and Jackson Wang.

As part of Kpop's growing popularity in Brazil, Kpop artists took home the top awards from the prestigious music organization. BLACKPINK proved girl power as they won in four categories, including International Music Video of the Year and Boom Video of the Year for Kill This Love; Best Collaboration for Kiss and Make Up with Dua Lipa and K-pop Female Group, All Kpop reported.

This was the first time that BLACKPINK was nominated for the BreakTudo Awards, which makes their victory a milestone event for Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose.

The award came as a welcome break from criticisms received by BLACKPINK over their alleged tardiness at an event in Seoul featuring David Beckham. YG Entertainment, through an unofficial statement, maintained that Jennie, Rose, Lisa, and Jisoo arrived on time and were scheduled to be at the event after the football star. However, fans were dissatisfied with the agency's explanation and censured the agency for failing to issue an apology.

BLACKPINK is, currently, gearing for the Japan leg of its Your Area World Tour, which will take place in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka from December to February.

Meanwhile, for its second nomination to the BreakTudo, BTS picked up two wins for International Fandom and International Group. For the honor, they beat top contenders like 5 Seconds of Summer, Jonas Brothers, Little Mix, The Chainsmokers, and The Vamps. BTS recently concluded a successful concert in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which won the group plenty of new fans in the Middle East.

EXO took home the victory for the Kpop Male Group Category, beating groups like BTS, GOT7, Monsta X, Pentagon, and NCT 127. According to EXO Kai, the group is prepared to make another comeback before the end of the year even though he and Baekhyun will be busy with SuperM's US concert tour. He assured EXO fans that there would be no disruption to the group's schedules, even with their jam-packed activities.

"There are plans for [EXO's comeback] within the year. EXO will be EXO, and SuperM will be SuperM. We'll promote hard in each of our respective groups as well," he said in an interview with Soompi.

TXT also won the International Debut Music Video category for Crown in their first nomination to the BreakTudo Awards. Fan-favorite Jackson Wang also picked up a win for the Kpop Artist category for the second time in his career.
