Just like any regular household, Buckingham Palace is also filled with photos of the royal family. However, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s portrait were nowhere to be found in the Buckingham Palace’s Audience Room.

The said photo of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were among the photos hung on the wall, displayed in front of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s portrait. So, why wasn’t it there anymore?

It seems that Queen Elizabeth may have expressed her disappointment towards Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent interview by putting their picture down. While there is no exact proof that Her Majesty removed their portrait, she knows everything that’s going on in the Palace and would always have the last say about any decision. In short, the Queen knows that the portrait is not there anymore and she didn’t oppose it.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made some shocking revelations during their interview in Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, and it seems that Queen Elizabeth is not too pleased with it. Her Majesty is known for trying to avoid any sort of controversies as much as possible, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex talking about the British clan and the monarchy may have affected and horrified the Queen.

In fact, Meghan Markle’s interview in the Harry & Meghan: An African Journey documentary is being compared to Princess Diana’s explosive sit-down with Martin Bashir for Panorama in 1995. It was during that interview that the Princess of Wales infamously shared Prince Charles’ infidelity and said, "well, there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.”

In the recent documentary, which was aired last week, Meghan Markle also hinted that she was unhappy. ITV’s Tom Bradby asked about the impact of public scrutiny on the Duchess of Sussex and she replied, “thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I'm OK.”

While the royal family usually ignore these fake, hurtful, and exaggerated stories, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to do something about it and sued a couple of publications. Piers Morgan, a well-known critic of the former actress, then said that the royal couple should “stop playing the victim.”

As for Queen Elizabeth, she may, allegedly, be teaching Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a lesson by removing their portrait down after dragging the controversy instead of stopping it. Her Majesty may have felt that their move was not royal-like. So, they didn’t deserve to be displayed in the Buckingham Palace.
