Before news of their rift made headlines, Meghan Markle, Prince William, Prince Harry and Kate Middleton got along pretty well. In fact, in the months after getting engaged to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle was photographed sharing a warm moment with Prince William.
The photo, unearthed on Instagram, showed Prince William putting his hand over Meghan Markle's shoulders to greet her. Prince Harry's wife, on the other hand, lightly touched Prince William by his side and both looked amiable towards each other as they exchange pleasantries during a solemn occasion.
According to the Daily Mail, this photo was taken during an Anzac Day tribute in Westminster Abbey a few weeks before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in 2018. Kate Middleton was not in their company because she just gave birth to Prince Louis, her third baby with Prince William.
Prince William was also photographed kissing Meghan Markle in the cheeks when he greeted her. Standing next to them was Prince Harry and the three would actually sit together at the front of the church for a special service.
It's not often that Prince William is photographed getting chummy with his sister-in-law. Prince Harry, on the other hand, get along quite well with Kate Middleton and they do have a great relationship as in-laws.
When Prince Harry was still single, he was actually the third wheel at Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal engagements. He would also often hangout at his brother's place and they were deemed by fans together as "the royal trio."
Rumors of a falling out between the brothers, however, surfaced early this year. Allegedly, Prince William advised Prince Harry not to rush his romance with Meghan Markle, the American TV star, but the younger royal reportedly did not take the advice well.
Prince Harry spoke about his current relationship with Prince William in the documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey. He confirmed that they no longer see each other as much as they should because they have charted separate paths as royals.
Meanwhile, Kate Middleton is, reportedly, trying to sort out the relationship between the brothers. According to Us Weekly, Prince William's wife does not like seeing Prince Harry and Meghan miserable.
Sources close to the Cambridge couple, however, said that Kate Middleton does her best to stay out of the drama. Her fervent hope is that the brothers will heal and patch things up since they are family.
