Riverdale season 4 episode 5 is almost here and, within this episode, fans will see more of Betty's dark side. There's also a chance to meet Veronica's older sister.
Based on the promo of Riverdale season 4 episode 6, it looks like the episode will focus more on Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart). In the clip, her half-brother, FBI Agent Charles Smith, said all murderers have one thing in common and, then, pictures of several killers were shown. Betty realized that these murderers all have the "serial killer gene."
The clip shifts to Betty walking towards a little girl who's sitting on the grass next to a lying animal. That girl, which happens to be her younger self, lifts up a rock and was about to kill a family pet. Then, Betty shouted "no" to stop the girl from killing the pet. It's unclear whether she managed to stop the girl or not as the trailer ended swiftly.
Will Betty show her dark side again in Riverdale season 4 episode 6? As per Express, Betty isn't just a nice girl next door, as fans have already seen her trying to drown Chuck (Jordan Calloway) in the hot tub and letting the Black Hood (Lochlyn Munro) lose on Chic (Hart Denton).
Later on, Betty discovers the reason behind her dark side. Her sister, Polly (Tiera Skovbye), told her that she possessed the "serial killer gene" or monoamine oxidase A (MAOA). She told Betty that none of them have it -- including their Dad. Betty is the only one in the family who has that gene and she has a predisposition to violence.
In another part of Riverdale season 4 episode 5, Veronica Lodge's (Camila Mendes) older sister will be introduced. During the New York Comic-Con 2019, series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said Veronica's sister, Hermosa (Mishel Prada), will appear in the fifth episode. He said the character is as scheming as her father, Hiram (Mark Consuelos), and she lives in Miami.
Just like Veronica, Hermosa is also running nightclubs and stuff. The character will be introduced in the fifth episode since there will be big Lodge trials. Veronica is caught between Hermione (Marisol Nichols) and Hiram's double trial. So, she grapples with what the future holds for her family. Hermosa will, then, appear and will possibly cause a sibling rivalry.
Riverdale season 4 episode 5 will air on Wednesday, Nov. 6, on The CW.
