Prodigal Son episode 8 is set to arrive next week, and this episode will be a significant one for Malcolm since a case is somewhat related to his family, particularly about his father's past. Titled "Family Friend," Malcolm needs to deal with a case wherein the suspect has a connection to his father, Martin a.k.a. "The Surgeon."
In Prodigal Son episode 8, the NYPD will continue investigating the "Junkyard Killer" case. However, Malcolm realized the main suspect may have had connections to his father. He has been trying to prove that the Junkyard Killer and his serial killer father were indeed connected, and he's convinced these two were linked in one way or the other.
Previously, Jessica and Malcolm heard a telephone ring in the basement, which is also the old office of his father. Jessica was confused as the telephone was already disconnected. But, Malcolm answered the phone and a man claimed he's an old friend of his father. The man also said it was nice to see Malcolm in the junkyard after a long time, and this made him confused as well.
When Malcolm asked how he knew him, the man mentioned the "camping trip." Series creators Chris Fedak and Sam Sklaver revealed that they're going to tell the whole story about that camping trip in this episode. Fedak said that this man, Paul Lazar, will going to tell Malcolm everything, including his connections to his father and their past.
Paul got his own psychology about being a killer and he's different from Martin. Fedak noted that Prodigal Son episode 8 will reveal Paul comes from much different psychology. He will also try to understand how Malcolm fits in his goals and past. Fedak said there were some big revelations within this episode, particularly for Malcolm and what he remembers.
In addition, Sklaver said the camping trip is an essential part of Malcolm's backstory. He noted that they're going to delve more into it and they will not hold anything back. Sklaver also revealed they're going to tell the whole story of the camping trip, which is important for Malcolm and will unfold more mysteries as the series goes on.
In another part of Prodigal Son episode 8, Ainsley wants to be the first one on the case as the news about the serial killer spreads. Jessica, on the other hand, starts to panic and fears that she may not be able to leave her past behind. Meanwhile, CarterMatt noted this episode will be the last for the next couple of weeks, so there's no episode airing on Nov. 18.
Prodigal Son episode 8 will air on Monday, Nov. 11, on Fox.
