His Dark Materials episode 2 will arrive later this week and, within this episode, we're going to learn more about the characters, especially with Lyra and her new life in London. The freshman HBO fantasy series, recently, made its debut and viewers weren't disappointed as the show proved to be interesting and worth watching.
In His Dark Materials episode 2, Lyra will have to deal with her new life in London. She is also determined to find her best friend, Roger (Lewin Lloyd), with the help of Mrs. Coulter (Ruth Wilson). Lyra is a young girl, but she's destined for so much more. In the upcoming episode, she will experience a new world with Mrs. Coulter. But, is she exactly the person we know that she is?
It clear that all adults withing this series are hiding a secret, so can Lyra be really safe? Mrs. Coulter is appealing to the young adventure-seeker, but it seems like she's up to something. She suddenly appeared from nowhere and took Lyra and Pan from the safety of Jordan College. So, it looks like she has connections in higher places.
Meanwhile, Lyra is also determined to find Roger in His Dark Materials episode 2. She believes that her best friend was captured by The Gobblers -- though she's not really sure what kind of creatures they are and why they took him. But, even though she's clueless where her best friend is, Lyra will not let him go without a fight.
His Dark Materials is based on the novel series of the same name by Philip Pullman. The fantasy TV series is set in an alternate world, wherein humans have animal companions called daemons -- the manifestation of the human soul. The story focuses on the life of young Lyra, an orphan who's living with the scholars at Jordan College, Oxford.
While searching for her missing friend, Lyra uncovers a series of kidnappings and its link to the mysterious substance known as "Dust." According to director Otto Bathurst, some elements of the books and the series have been changed to give the show more modern feels, rather than the original's Victoriana fantasy.
His Dark Materials also stars James McAvoy as Lord Asriel, Daniel Frogson as Tony Costa, Gary Lewis as Thorold, Lucian Msamati as John Faa, Will Keen as Father MacPhail, Ariyon Bakare as Lord Carlo Boreal, James Cosmo as Farder Coram, Clarke Peters as The Master/Dr. Carne, and Anne-Marie Duff as Ma Costa.
His Dark Materials episode 2 will air on Sunday, Nov. 10, on HBO.
