Meghan Markle's shocking revelation, that she's not okay amid the media intrusion into her life as a royal, was an eye-opener for the reality of their situation as privileged people. However, two of Prince Harry's ex-girlfriends saw what they were up against and decided they couldn't cope so they broke it off with the Duke of Sussex.

Chelsy Davy, who was in an on-and-off relationship with Prince Harry from 2004 to 2011, shared in a 2016 interview that the life of a royal was "crazy, scary and uncomfortable." She admitted that she had difficulty coping with the media scrutiny thus it was a big factor in her decision to end her relationship with Prince Harry. She told him in all honesty that the royal life was not for her.

Davy revealed that her experience as the girlfriend of a royal was too horrible that she decided to move back to Zimbabwe, her home country, after splitting with Prince Harry. Now that she's in Africa, Davy said that her life is calm and fine.

Cressida Bonas, who dated Prince Harry after Davy was out of the picture, also had a similar reason for ending her romance with the duke. According to royal author Katie Nicholl, Bonas' two year-relationship was serious and there were talks of a marriage. However, she decided she did not want the kind of attention the royals received from the press.

Bonas apparently saw what her life would be like after watching Kate and Prince William go on a tour in Australia. Nicholl said that Prince Harry didn't want to break up with Bonas but her mind was made up and it broke his heart to lose her.

Prince Harry, however, remains cordial with his exes. Nicholl also shared that Prince Harry and Davy had a tearful phone call a few days before he was to marry Meghan. The biographer said that the emotional moment was an acknowledgement that they have both moved on from each other.

Davy, apparently, did not get an invite to Prince Harry's wedding and she promised him that she will not gate crashing. However, there were also reports claiming that both his ex-girlfriends witnessed him exchanging vows with Meghan. Davy and Bonas were apparently not invited to the evening party that took place in Frogmore, prompting some of Prince Harry's friends to be surprised about the choice.
