Is a royal jealously dividing Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, against Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie of the House of York? Sources say that the princesses, who are the full royal-blooded first cousins of Prince William and Prince Harry, feel that they have been diminished in their status ever since Kate and Meghan became part of the family.

For Kate, the row escalated when she was able to attend a joint engagement with the princesses' grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, during the Diamond Jubilee. Insiders, allegedly, said that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie expressed they were snubbed and reduced to merely "walk-in" participants in the royal family tree.

However, a source said that Kate Middleton's presence at the said event was a matter of seniority. She is, after all, the wife of the second in line to the throne of England.

However, Kate's rift with the York sisters, allegedly, started when she and Prince William did not invite Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York and the princesses' mother, to their wedding in 2011. Prince Beatrice also felt slighted when Kate and Prince William did not invite Dave Clark, whom she was dating at that time.

Since then, reports have cited that the princesses would snub their cousin's wife during family gatherings and social events. However, last year's Easter celebrations with the royals had Kate laughing and talking to one of the York sisters like there wasn't a rumored rift. The Duchess of Cambridge was also a guest at Princess Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank in 2018.

Meanwhile, Now To Love reported that Princess Beatrice has no plans of inviting Meghan Markle, and maybe even Prince Harry, on her wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2020, if she only had her way. Her dislike for her cousin's wife, apparently, stemmed from when Meghan stole Princess Eugenie's thunder last year.

Apparently, Meghan deliberately chose to announce her first pregnancy within a matter of hours after Prince Eugenie announced her engagement. Thus, the York sisters are now, reportedly, not fond of Prince Harry's wife because, like Kate Middleton, she takes all the attention away.

Even more hurtful was when Prince Harry and Meghan didn't stay long enough to witness the celebrations of Princess Eugenie's wedding. It, apparently, upset the Yorks when the Sussexes left after the ceremony even as Prince Harry swung by alone to the party later that night.
