It’s no secret that Meghan Markle doesn’t have a good relationship with her family. The Duchess of Sussex excluded part of her father’s family from her and Prince Harry’s wedding last year, seemingly confirming speculations that she is feuding with them.
Now, Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha is ready to tell everything about the Duchess of Sussex. However, she claims that she’s receiving a lot of death threats to keep her from publishing the tell-all book.
"I started getting harassed around the time of the Royal Wedding and the moment people knew I disagreed with some things about my sister such as not inviting both sides of the family,” Samantha Markle said. “The possibility of my book coming out was another controversial subject."
Since Meghan Markle and her family are not in good terms right now, it is expected that Samantha’s tell-all book is going to have negative content about Prince Harry’s wife. With that said, Samantha shared that she was forced to move twice to escape all the "threats and harassment" after revealing that she’s going to publish a book on the Duchess of Sussex.
"I started getting threats and people would send and tweet photographs of me being viewed through a high-powered scope behind broken glass with my face in targets,” she continued. "If that’s not obvious symbolism I don’t know what is. It was all with the intent to intimidate, keep me in fear, preventing me from releasing my book – you can’t do that to people.”
Samantha went on to say that she has the right to write a book even if people are not going to be happy about it. "We have freedom of speech and just because someone might not like what I have to say or that I have a book coming out doesn’t mean that they can engage in criminal activity, coercion, threats, and intimidation to prevent me exercising my freedom of speech,” she said.
Last month, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s documentary was released and it received mixed reactions from viewers. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared their struggles with life in the spotlight, but they garnered more criticisms for it instead of sympathy.
The royal couple also sued a couple of publications, which the public sees as not so royal-like so they are bashed for it even more. So if Samantha Markle is going to pursue her tell-all book, it’s going to be bad news for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
