Prince Charles is the reigning heir of the monarch and his son Prince William is the second in line to the throne. Although it is a given fact that the Prince of Wales is going to be the King of England once Queen Elizabeth decided to retire, polls revealed that Britons prefer the Duke of Cambridge more.
It was previously reported that Queen Elizabeth has a different relationship with Prince William than with Prince Harry. While Her Majesty can easily be herself as a grandmother to the younger prince, she had to be a little more serious with the Duke of Sussex, since he is the future leader of England.
With that said, Queen Elizabeth had been preparing Prince William to the throne. Although Prince Charles is the rightful heir, many are hoping that the Duke of Cambridge would be the next King as they see him as more worthy of the title. Reports then claimed that the father-of-three is expecting that he is going to be the Queen’s successor and not his father.
But a New Idea source said that Queen Elizabeth made a shocking U-turn and decided to stick to the initial plan, which is for Prince Charles to reign after her. This allegedly upsets Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth arrived at the recent State Opening of Parliament with Prince Charles and Camilla. While there’s nothing new with Her Majesty arriving with her son, what made it surprising is the fact that it was the first time that Camilla joined her husband and the Queen at the important event.
“Palace aides confirm that it signals she will make them king and queen imminently and is preparing them for the roles,” a royal insider said. “The move has shocked and ruffled a lot of feathers with the family – not least Kate and William who’d been tipped to take over the monarchy.”
The insider went on to say that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were not too happy with Queen Elizabeth’s shocking U-turn as they were already doing a lot of preparation to take over the monarchy. “Kate and William are fuming,” the tipster continued. “They’ve refused to see or speak to Charles, Camilla or the Queen and are said to be taking their trip to Pakistan to take some time out from the family.”
Meanwhile, despite the claims that Prince William and Kate Middleton are upset with Queen Elizabeth, the Duchess of Sussex were spotted at the same balcony as Her Majesty during the Remembrance Sunday ceremony. Meghan Markle, on the other hand, was standing on a different balcony next to Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence, Princess Anne's husband, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex.
