Prince William and Kate Middleton have had their share of public display of affection. Although the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge don’t really mind showing their emotions to the public, they don’t do it as often as their fans would like to see.
But during a recent event in London celebrating volunteers working with the text messaging crisis line, Shout, Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a sweet moment that can make anyone go “awww.” Before entering the Troubadour White Theatre, where the event was held, the Duke of Cambridge rubbed his wife’s back lightly before letting her walk in front of him like a true gentleman.
Prince William and Kate Middleton had been married for almost a decade, and most married couples don’t do sweet gestures anymore, especially when they’re as busy as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. However, the royal couple still managed to maintain the spark between them and still look as in love as they were in day one.
Meanwhile, Shout is a 24/7 text support service that urges people to contact the organization when they’re in crisis, such as depression, bullying, and suicidal thoughts. Prince William and Kate Middleton clearly see the significance of the service as they fully supported the charity.
In his speech, Prince William said: “It has been an amazing journey. Catherine and I, and I know I speak for Harry and Meghan as well, couldn’t be more proud of what Shout has accomplished and what you are still to accomplish. You are still a relatively new charity but hitting some big goals and some very big objectives, so we really appreciate the work you are doing.”
The Duke of Cambridge shared that Shout “had roughly 15,000 volunteering after the launch.” He then added that the organization has “3,000 now in training, and 1,500 of you actively involved now.”
Of course, Prince William didn’t forget all the efforts of the volunteers who help those people in need. “Catherine and I were hearing just outside about how many of you wake up at 3 am to answer this peak demand sometimes when there are simply not enough volunteers to go around to answer this sad demand that we have at the moment,” he said.
Prince William had been very keen to include Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to his speech and even his tweet. It was heavily rumored that the brothers are feuding and the Duke of Sussex seemingly confirmed all the speculations when he admitted that he and his brother are “on different paths” at the moment.
But with Prince William’s recent gesture towards Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, it is safe to say that if there is a rift, it is definitely coming to an end soon.
