Prince Philip already retired from his royal duties, but that doesn’t mean that he’s not going to attend any events anymore. The Duke of Edinburgh accompanied Queen Elizabeth during a Remembrance Day weekend two years ago.

While royal fans were happy to see him, a lot of them quickly got worried about Prince Philip’s health. Many noticed that the Duke of Edinburgh looked tired as he leaned against a wall almost the entire ceremony.

Prince Philip’s gesture suggests that he couldn’t handle standing for long periods anymore. And as if that’s not enough, his face also looked gaunt.

At 98 years old, it is understandable that Prince Philip will not be as strong as he was before. However, his appearance was so upsetting that it sparked concern. Now, fans are getting worried about Prince Philip's health again after he didn't attend the recent Remembrance Day weekend.

On the online forum site Quora, a royal fan asked: “Why wasn't Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh with the Queen at the recent Remembrance Day celebrations in London this year?” Netizens then discussed his absence and urged Prince Philip to take the rest that he needs.

Since he’s already retired, netizens said that he doesn’t need to join Queen Elizabeth’s royal engagements anymore. “He basically is now only seen by family, friends, and staff and at 98 years and 5 months he has earned the right to take a back step,” one fan wrote.

Another fan reminded everyone that Prince Philip had a hip replacement, and this his health has not been great. But since he has all the right to choose to go to an even or not, no one knows how he truly feels health-wise.

“His health hasn’t been the best - you might remember that he’d just had a hip replacement 18 months ago [and was in excruciating pain at Harry and Meghan’s wedding],” the fan said. “He shows up when he feels like showing up - a prerogative of both being 98 and being retired. No one knows which private events he chooses to attend unless the said event is covered by the press - like his granddaughter’s wedding.”

However, Express noted that Prince Philip’s health may have nothing to do with his absence in the recent Remembrance Day weekend, and fans shouldn’t be so worried about it. His absence may very well be just a result of him being retired.
