Emilia Clarke did experience the hardship of being a rising star. The Game of Thrones actress revealed all the pressure that she felt when she was made to do the nude screens for the HBO series.

Clarke famously portrayed the role of Daenerys Targaryen, a.k.a. Khaleesi, in all eight seasons of Game of Thrones. In a recent interview with Dax Shepard's podcast, Armchair Expert, Clarke said filming the first season of GoT was a difficult time for a newcomer actress like her. The Last Christmas star confessed that she did had fights on set about the extent of the nudity that she has to do for the show.

Clarke recalled accepting the role for GoT despite reading the scripts for Season 1 that required her to do a lot of nude scenes. Clarke admitted that she cried a lot before doing those Khaleesi's obscene scenes.

Fortunately, she has her co-star Jason Momoa, who played the role of her character's husband, Khal Drogo. Clarke said Momoa comforted her during filming and taught her how she should or shouldn't be treated. She said the Aquaman actor is very kind and considerate and took care of her on set.

Clarke did not have any nudity between Seasons 3 and 6. Her last was in the sixth season but it was on a very closed set, unlike in her previous nude scenes. The Solo: A Star Wars Story star added she has more control of the situation in Season 6.

Clarke said the approach on the set is far more different in the succeeding seasons of GoT and she is more confident in expressing what she is comfortable doing in front of the camera. The 33-year-old actress admitted though that there were still difficult times on set whenever she needs to negotiate on how much skin she needs to show in a scene.

"I have had fights on set before when I am like, 'No, sheet stays up.' And they are like 'You don't want to disappoint your Game of Thrones fans.' And I'm like 'F***you,'" Clarke said.

In a 2016 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Clarke admitted that taking off her clothes is difficult to do. However, with the help of special effects, she doesn't need to do what she did in the first season of GoT.

Clarke also opened up about what it is like being stared at by people she doesn't know because of that they watch on GoT. She said that is the difference between a movie or TV actor to those in theaters. Clarke said theater actors can see the audience watching them when they do a nude scene. In comparison, a TV or movie star films nudity in front of a crew but he or she doesn't know who else will watch the final cut.
