Prince William and Kate Middleton may have a couple of PDA photos roaming around the web, but they are not known for constantly showing this gesture towards each other. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have always been sweet on and off cam, but they don’t usually do it in special and formal events.
However, many have noticed that Prince William and Kate Middleton have been quite “tactile” lately. In fact, during the Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium on Monday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were “subtly flirty,” according to body language expert Judi James.
“William and Kate aren’t known for their overt PDAs and they can keep their touch rituals to a minimum in public but this back-touch from William looks unusually tactile and affectionate,” she said. “His smile looks almost shy here and the splayed hand appears gentle and gentlemanly, although that raised thumb suggests intense happiness.”
Being married for almost a decade and with three young children, people may have thought that there’s no spark between Prince William and Kate Middleton anymore. But it seems that that truth is that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are just more relaxed and at ease with each other that they don’t feel the need to show anything extra for the public to say that they’re in love.
On the other hand, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are known for their constant PDAs. But despite that, netizens believe that Prince William and Kate Middleton are more in love with each other than the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
“When you are in love and secure in your relationship, you don't need to touch someone constantly,” a royal fan wrote on the online forum Quora. “You don't need to prove your love to the world by being overly affectionate in public. Harry and Meghan's affection feels forced. I highly doubt Meghan hangs on to Harry when they are home alone.”
Another royal fan pointed out that the relationships of the two Royal couples should not be compared as the Cambridges have been together longer than the Sussexes. Prince William and Kate Middleton have been married for eight years, while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just tied the knot last year. While this doesn’t mean that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are more in love than the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, it just shows that they have passed the honeymoon phase but still show a stable union until now.
