Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now on their six-week break in the United States. There were also confirmations last week that the Sussex couple, along with Archie Harrison, will be skipping the Christmas event at Sandringham with Queen Elizabeth II.
While many claims have revealed that things are seemingly getting better for the duke and duchess, especially that they are now resting from royal duties and works, several sources contended otherwise. Based on the said sources, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have remained "distant" from the rest of the royal family.
According to People, royal insiders and sources revealed that the Sussex couple hasn't engaged yet in conversations with anyone within the family. No one is "calling or texting," no one is "checking in," the sources added.
It was noted that this all started when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex gave their "bombshell" interview for the ITV documentary titled, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey. In the interview, the couple revealed a lot of shocking things as to how they are in recent times.
On Meghan Markle's part, the duchess confirmed that she has been struggling. She also stated that trying her best has been truly "damaging" her internally.
As for Prince Harry, he seemingly confirmed that there is an ongoing rift between him and his brother, Prince William. The duke even emphasized that he and his brother are now on "different paths."
With these statements and revelations at hand, it all sparked controversies and allegations. Tom Bradby, who happens to be the duke's friend as well, even described the Sussex couple as "bruised and vulnerable" during the interview.
Based on the general reception, the interview angered and triggered a lot of royal fans, supporters, and experts. Many are also convinced that it created a huge feud between the Sussex couple and the rest of the royal family.
No confirmations have been made if the royal family, especially Queen Elizabeth II is truly disappointed with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Even so, the family's recent royal engagements seemingly prove that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have remained distant from the rest.
Before the couple's flight to the United States, they attended the Festival of Remembrance Day and the ceremony of the event the day after with the senior royals, as well as Prince William and Kate Middleton. However, it seemingly appeared that the Sussex couple never talked to anyone during these events.
Body language experts also noted that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle looked "uncomfortable" during their reunions.
