Prince William and Kate Middleton’s marriage was tested earlier this year when reports claimed that the Duke of Cambridge cheated on his wife. As if that’s not enough of a shocker, the future king was allegedly having an affair with Kate’s good friend Rose Hanbury.
While the claims were never confirmed, royal fans believe that Kate Middleton still has to support Prince William even if the cheating rumors were true. Being the wife of the future king and the mother of his children, the Duchess of Cambridge is expected to keep her family intact.
On the online forum Quora, one netizen asked: “What are Kate Middleton's responsibilities after marrying Prince William?” Royal fans then discussed the matter, stating that the Duchess of Cambridge has a very important role in their household.
“Catherine is required to support her husband in his role, and deal with the running of a household and staff,” a royal fan commented. “But most importantly she is responsible for her children’s behavior in public, and to prepare them for their Royal roles ahead of them, especially that of Prince George, a future King.”
Additionally, it is expected that Kate Middleton’s support should be unconditional. Therefore, even if Prince William had an affair, she should always be by his side.
“Next is support husband, children, and other royals and remain loyal forever even if your husband cheats on you,” another fan wrote. “Lastly, stay calm, keep your opinions to yourself and move on.”
Also, Prince William and Kate Middleton are not ordinary husbands and wives who only think about themselves and their own families. They are a part of the royal family, which they have to consider in each and every decision that they make.
“She would undertake royal duties by herself or her husband, frequently appear in public, or even be chased by notorious paparazzi. She takes part in various annual royal engagements. She participates in the Queen’s birthday celebrations Trooping the Colour, including riding the royal coach and appearing on the balcony,” a fan noted. “She and her husband, and most of the time their children too made overseas trips representing the Queen.”
Prince William, Kate Middleton, and the rest of the Royal family have never addressed the cheating rumors. Until a statement is officially released the Buckingham Palace regarding the matter, this remains as a speculation.
