Live shows are very unpredictable. Even if the program has been prepared for months, nobody could control what’s going to happen during the event.
Not even K-pop superstars BTS are exempted from these unavoidable errors. While Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook always look professionals when they’re on stage, the process before taking those flawless appearances are certainly not perfect all the time.
Recently, BTS proved their legend status by winning multiple major awards on November 30 at the Gocheok Sky Dome, the Melon Music Awards 2019 or better known as MMA 2019. Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook swept all four Daesangs (grand prizes) of the night with Artist of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year with “Map of the Soul: Persona,” and Song of the Year with “Boy With Luv.”
BTS thanked their fans for all the love and support. They also gave some heartfelt messages for the ARMYs, noting that they wouldn’t be where they are today without them.
But what viewers may have missed were the mishaps that happened during the event. Jimin did one of those errors, and his unsuspecting victim was J-Hope.
When BTS went up the stage to accept their “Artist of the Year” award, Jimin bowed to the MC, not knowing that J-Hope was just a few inches behind him. When the singer did the polite gesture, he hit the rapper on that specific spot. (Watch the clip here).
Based on J-Hope’s reaction, the bump was very painful as it looked like Jimin almost ruined his chances of being a dad one day. The “Chicken Noodle Soup” hitmaker is known for his extreme reactions, but he luckily composed himself when the mishap happened. He only said “ow," which was hilarious for fans who know him well. They are convinced that he was screaming inside.
But J-Hope’s nutcracker moment courtesy of Jimin was not the only malfunction that BTS did that night. Not surprisingly, RM almost ruined something that night, as well. However, he didn’t risk other members’ family jewels when he whacked his thyrsus on stage, but his own. (Watch the clip here). After all, he 's not called the "God of Destruction" for nothing.
RM then added another destruction to his list when he accidentally bumped into Jin from behind. The BTS leader almost knocked Mr. Worldwide Handsome over, but RM quickly noticed his mistake and grabbed Jin’s waist to help him up. (Watch the clip here).
