Princess Beatrice and Italian boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are set to say their “I dos” next year. Their wedding plans were made before Prince Andrew withdrew from royal life after a scandalous interview with BBC Newsnight, where his alleged link to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s scandal was discussed.

Now, it seems that the whole fiasco surrounding Prince Andrew is affecting Princess Beatrice’s engagement party. The special gathering that the bride-to-be planned was supposed to be held on December 18 but it was reportedly canceled. The reason behind the engagement party not being pursued was to reportedly avoid photographers from taking snaps of Prince Andrew.

There are no new details about Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s upcoming nuptials as of this writing. The venue and date are still unknown. The only thing that is confirmed is that they are getting married next year.

After tying the knot with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Beatrice will become a stepmom to the former’s two-year-old son, Christopher "Wolfie" Woolf Mapelli Mozzi. Joe Little, the managing editor of Majesty magazine, said that, since the pair had been friends way before they got engaged, it is possible that things will not be that awkward.

Meanwhile, although the Duke of York showed empathy for disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein’s victims, it was a little too late as he didn’t express that emotion during the initial interview. After learning about his possible link to the scandal, a lot of charities and organizations sever ties with Prince Andrew.

Knowing that he had close ties with Jeffrey Epstein, all eyes were on Prince Andrew when the news broke about the billionaire's scandal. Although the financier and accused sex trafficker took his own life in August, the investigation didn’t end with his death.

Everyone linked to Jeffrey Epstein is being investigated by the authorities. When the image of Prince Andrew, alleged sex trafficking victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre, and Ghislaine Maxwell emerged, many were convinced that Queen Elizabeth’s son and the British socialite knew about Epstein’s lifestyle and they didn’t do anything about it.

Authorities are still trying to identify more of his victims and Prince Andrew’s link to Jeffrey Epstein’s scandal. “The US investigation is focusing on several potential victims in the hope that they can provide more details about Prince Andrew and his connection to the Epstein case,” a source from the Department of Justice, which oversees the FBI, told the Times.
