It has been almost a decade now since Kate Middleton became an official member of the British Royal Family. But, prior to her becoming the Duchess of Cambridge, she already has a close relationship with Queen Elizabeth II as per reports.
As it happened, Prince William and Kate dated for eight years before tying the knot. In those years of being a girlfriend, she already met the Queen several times. Accordingly, it is not surprising why the monarch has much closer ties with her more than with the newly wedded, Meghan Markle.
Regardless, Express UK recently reported that even without the consideration of time spent with Queen Elizabeth II, this dynamic can still be seen through the royals' body language. As stated by Judi James, a body language expert, there is a huge "contrast" between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, in terms of their characters, which are also contributing factors to the level of their closeness with the Queen.
Based on claims, Kate Middleton has a very "fuss-free" and "cheerful" behavior. These are some of the qualities that were said to be in favor of the monarch's likings.
Not to mention, the Duchess of Cambridge has her "growing signs" of dependability and confidence to handle bigger responsibilities and roles for the monarchy. Although this is part of the preparation for the throne, Queen Elizabeth II seems more "relaxed" these days as she can count on Kate, she added.
Daily Mail also agrees as the publication asserted that the duchess shares a very "easy" relationship with the Queen. This has become more apparent when Kate Middleton gave birth to the three young royals, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, as per royal commentator, Katie Nicholl.
While most of the time Kate and Queen Elizabeth were said to be very "formal," there is no doubt that the Duchess of Cambridge is the "Queen's favorite."
Meanwhile, this is not to say that Meghan Markle is the least favorite. As explained by several royal experts, Queen Elizabeth II and the Duchess of Sussex also share a good relationship with each other. It may not be as close as what the monarch has with Prince William's wife but, Meghan was said to share the same qualities and traits with the Queen.
Aside from their love for dogs, it was reported that Meghan Markle can make the Queen laugh when they are together. Even so, forging a much deeper relationship between them may take time as the Duchess of Sussex is still new to the royal life.
