The public used to love seeing Prince William and Prince Harry as a duo. But now that they’re married, people just love comparing the royal brothers and their wives Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.
Royal fans and critics enjoy arguing about who’s the better pair. It’s quite obvious that Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle are two completely different couples, but they are still being compared even over the tiniest things. Recently, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are being accused of copying the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
On Christmas Day, Kensington Palace’s official Twitter account shared a photo of Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Since Kate Middleton was not in the snap and she is known for her love for photography, the Duchess of Cambridge is presumably the one who took the adorable Christmas picture.
However, some people look past the beautiful image and used it to compare with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Christmas photo. The similarity? Both pictures were shot in black and white. That’s it. But that didn’t stop other people from comparing the two photos.
“Imitation is the best form of flattery - or however the saying goes. It's nice to see KP staying consistent in ‘imitating’ The Sussexes. The black and white filter ... The PDA ... Wheeew. Must be nice to know you can't think of your own ideas. Merry Christmas,” one wrote on Twitter. “And they waited AFTER the Sussexes posted their Christmas card to release this. This is getting too obvious. Someone doesn’t like it when their attention isn’t on them for one day,” another one shared.
Supporters of Prince William and Kate Middleton quickly defended the couple after learning that fans of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seemed to be making a big deal out of nothing. They pointed out that the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex are not the only ones who can use a black and white photo as the idea is not limited to them.
“And since when using a color is copyrighted? Google and you won’t dye [sic] ignorant!” one wrote, while another fan attacked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s digitally altered Christmas card. “Check out Meghan's face, it is photoshopped. Her face is clear and everything else is blurred. Archie's is also photoshopped,” they commented.
