Kensington Palace’s official Twitter account shared a Christmas Card from the Cambridges on Christmas day. While the adorable snap melted a lot of hearts, it wasn’t supposed to be the photo that they will post to greet everyone a Merry Christmas.

The initial snap had Kate Middleton in it. But the one that Kensington Palace officially shared only showed Prince William with their three young children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Since the Duchess of Cambridge loves taking pictures, it is presumed that she is the one who took the Christmas photo.

The reason why the initial one was replaced was because a woman who received the Christmas card leaked it on social media before it was posted by Kensington Palace. Since it was already seen by many, the Palace decided to choose a different photo to share on Christmas day instead.

A lot of people liked how adorable the Cambridges Christmas card was, especially the sweet moment between Prince William and Prince Louis. However, some slammed the snap as they believe that the future king and Kate Middleton copied Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Christmas card because both cards are in black in white.

“Imitation is the best form of flattery - or however the saying goes. It's nice to see KP staying consistent in ‘imitating’ The Sussexes. The black and white filter ... The PDA ... Wheeew. Must be nice to know you can't think of your own ideas. Merry Christmas,” one wrote on Twitter. “And they waited AFTER the Sussexes posted their Christmas card to release this. This is getting too obvious. Someone doesn’t like it when their attention isn’t on them for one day,” another one shared.

Supporters of Prince William and Kate Middleton quickly defended the couple, saying that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex don’t own the black and white theme. Some royal fans then pointed out that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Christmas card looked fake as it was allegedly heavily photoshopped.

“And since when using color is copyrighted? Google and you won’t dye [sic] ignorant!” one wrote, while another fan attacked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s digitally altered Christmas card. “Check out Meghan's face, it is photoshopped. Her face is clear and everything else is blurred. Archie's is also photoshopped,” they commented.
