Kate Middleton grew up in a regular household, where she lived and experienced what it was like to be a title-less citizen. Now that she is a part of the royal family, the Duchess of Cambridge decided to merge both worlds instead of leaving her past behind her.

With that said, Kate Middleton still spends a lot of time with her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis despite her busy schedule. Although she is required to complete her royal duties, the Duchess of Cambridge always makes sure to put her kids on top of her priority list.

This cannot be said about Queen Elizabeth. Her Majesty was born royal and is the current monarch of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. The Queen certainly loves her children and grandkids, but she is not as affectionate towards them compared to Kate Middleton.

In fact, Prince Charles himself shared that he was not close to Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth because they were busy completing their royal obligations when he was growing up. A throwback photo then proved this revelation even more. While it’s already a confirmed fact that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles didn’t have the usual sweet mother and son relationship, the snap showed everyone a visual of their emotionless bond.

While a mother’s love will always be there, Queen Elizabeth seemed to have a different approach in showing her affection towards Prince Charles and her other children. The snap certainly revealed that Her Majesty and the future king are not really showy like Prince William and Kate Middleton to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Even though Prince William was born royal, he has adapted Kate Middletown’s parenting skills after they got married in 2011. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been praised multiple times for how well they treat their children, and their latest outing was no different.

During Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s first Christmas walkabout, Prince William and Kate Middleton made sure to interact with their two children. At one point, the Duchess of Cambridge even knelt to be on an eye-level with her daughter.

“I notice that most pictures of Kate’s children with their parents, feature either both Kate and William engaging with the children,” body language expert Darren Stanton said. “This is in stark contrast to the parenting style by the Queen who was rarely seen showing any kind of interaction or attention to the royal children.”
