Queen Elizabeth is the reigning monarch of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. With that said, it is understandable that she had always been a busy woman, juggling family time and her royal obligations.

With her very hectic schedule, the public understands that Queen Elizabeth didn’t spend a lot of time with her children when they were younger. But, Her Majesty and Prince Philip’s throwback photo showed a rare moment where the monarch lovingly cradles Princess Anne.

While the sweet snap is mostly about the mother and child, royal fans couldn’t help but be in awe of Prince Philip’s extremely good looks. The Duke of Edinburgh is so handsome that he almost looked like a Hollywood actor.

“So handsome,” one wrote. “Prince Philip is so handsome,” another one echoed. “Aww beautiful photo,” one royal fan commented.

This was a lot different from Queen Elizabeth’s throwback picture with Prince Charles, where it seemingly showed everyone a visual of their emotionless bond. In the photo, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles were beside each other. However, neither of them looked at the other. Her Majesty looked at something or someone on the left side, while her son looked in the same direction and just stood there awkwardly with his hands behind him.

While a mother’s love will always be there, Queen Elizabeth seemed to have a different approach in showing her affection towards Prince Charles. The snap, certainly, revealed that Her Majesty and the future king are not really showy like Prince William and Kate Middleton to their children.

Meanwhile, Prince Philip sparked concerns when he was admitted to the hospital a few days before Christmas to undergo treatment for a pre-existing condition. Queen Elizabeth’s husband stayed at King Edward VIII Hospital for four nights, and he was finally cleared to go home on Dec. 24. He left King Edward VII's hospital in central London at 8.49 am and was driven to Buckingham Palace and flown by helicopter to Sandringham in Norfolk.

A spokesman for Buckingham Palace said that “the Duke of Edinburgh has today left the hospital after being discharged by his Doctor and is now back at Sandringham. His Royal Highness would like to thank everyone who sent their good wishes. Speaking about his father to reporters as he visited the flood-hit village of Fishlake yesterday afternoon, Prince Charles said: 'He's being looked after very well in hospital. At the moment that's all we know.'”
