Prince William was rumored to have cheated on Kate Middleton last year. Since the Duke of Cambridge had always seemed to be devoted to his wife, the cheating rumors shocked a lot of people, especially with who he was allegedly cheating with. He was, reportedly, having an affair with Kate's best friend, Rose Hanbury.

Although the royal family and the Buckingham Palace have never addressed the rumors, many were convinced that the prince was unfaithful to his wife. But, how did these cheating rumors start?

The story started when Kate Middleton and Rose Hanbury had a falling out. There were claims that the Duchess of Cambridge was threatened by “her glamorous best friend,” which led to a rivalry.

However, things began to shift when the alleged Kate Middleton and Rose Hanbury rivalry became a love triangle with Prince William. It was reported that the future king was trying to fix his wife and Rose’s friendship, but then he somehow ended up having an affair with their friend.

Prince William’s cheating scandal became even more intense when British food writer and television presenter Giles Coren Tweeted: “Yes. it is an affair.” Although he quickly deleted his shocking post, some netizens have already grabbed a screenshot of it.

Fans of the royal couple kept pointing out that it’s hard to believe the alleged Prince William cheating rumors as there is no evidence of it at all. “Unless there is any solid proof (which I doubt there is any), just more crap the media jumped on to sell gossip papers,” one said. “There appears to be no friction between Prince William and Duchess Kate so no reason to buy into the rumor period! Princes William and Harry have seen what an affair has done to their own mother so I don’t believe they would hurt their wives like their father has hurt their own mother Princess Diana!”

So, how did these cheating rumors affect Prince William and Kate Middleton’s marriage? As it turns out, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge see this whole fiasco as nothing but a nonsense rumor as they have remained solid and stronger than ever.

What made their marriage work is the fact that they started as good friends. Their relationship, then, blossomed romantically, and now they are proud parents to their three young kids — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
