YG Entertainment announced that Korean boy group BIGBANG will be making their much-awaited comeback at the upcoming 2020 Coachella Festival in April. BIGBANG member T.O.P along with his bandmates will perform at Coachella on April 10 and 17.

After the announcement was made, T.O.P shared on Instagram photos of American artist John Baldessari but he did not include any caption on it. A netizen commented on the photos to which the K-pop singer responded.

"You have to do well. No more mistakes," the fan wrote. "Agreed," T.O.P replied.

This sparked debate among K-pop fans. Netizens have varying opinions about what T.O.P wants to imply with his response.

The netizen could be referring to the illegal drug use charge of T.O.P in 2017. The "Turn It Up" singer began his mandatory military service on Feb. 9, 2017 as a conscripted police officer. He was set to be discharged on Nov. 8, 2018.

However while in service, he was charged for use of marijuana and his police duty was halted pending verdict on his case. Then, he was found unconscious in police barracks due to a suspected overdose from anti-anxiety medicine and was hospitalized.

T.O.P eventually pleaded guilty for the marijuana usage charges and received two years of probation. He resumed mandatory service as a public service officer on Jan. 26, 2018. He was discharged in July last year.

Some BIGBANG fans, also known as VIP, think T.O.P's response sounds like it comes from shame for his mistakes in the past. Others said the singer is just a human being who made mistakes and had paid for it.

Nonetheless, many VIP has expressed their support to the K-pop group's comeback after almost two years of hiatus following the members' military enlistment. All of the four remaining members of BIGBANG had completed their military service.

Former member Seungri has yet to start his enlistment. He is also not joining the group in Coachella as he had left BIGBANG and retired from the entertainment industry following the series of scandals that he got involved with last year.

Meanwhile, as YG Entertainment confirmed BIGBANG's performance at the U.S. music festival, fans have been wondering if the members T.O.P, G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung have already renewed their contracts with their label. A source from YG refused to divulge any details about the members' contract but, apparently, they are currently in talks with their agency and it is doing well.

BIGBANG will be performing at Coachella this year. Last year, another YG talent, BLACKPINK, marked their Coachella debut and it was positively received by international fans.
