The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, recently, expressed their decision to step back as senior members of the British Royal Family. This came after the Sussex family returned from their six-week break from royal duties.
The announcement made earlier last week shocked a lot of people including as well some members of the Royal Family. But, while the statements made appeared to be very unconventional, the Buckingham Palace, especially Queen Elizabeth II has now responded to the royal couple's desire to be an "independent" family.
According to BBC News, the Queen "held talks" with the Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, as well as with the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles and the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William. As stated, the family was "pleased" that they now have found a "constructive and supportive" way forward for the Sussex couple and their son, Archie Harrison.
The official statement further shared that the family of three will always be "much loved" members of the Royal Family. This was also said to be concluded after "many months of conversations" and discussions.
With this at hand, many are now wondering what will happen with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in terms of their positions and titles in the British Monarchy. It is no wonder why the public has a lot of questions. In fact, even royal experts and correspondents shared their thoughts about how confusing this new dynamic will be in this time of the family's "transitioning."
As per The Sun UK, however, the couple will no longer be "working royals." While they will drop their His and Her Royal Highnesses titles, they will still be known and called as Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The publication continued and revealed that the Sussex couple will "maintain" their patronages and associations despite the status that they will no longer "represent" the Queen formally. Even so, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry previously said that they will continue to "uphold" the values of Queen Elizabeth II in everything they do.
In a similar scoop published by the National Public Radio, the Frogmore Cottage in Windsor will remain as the Sussex family's home in the United Kingdom. Although they have been speculated to spend more time in Canada throughout the year, this is where they will stay in the country.
But, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, along with the Palace, also "expressed" in previous announcements that they "wish to repay" taxpayers with the cost of refurbishing the family's home upon their moving in last year. The amount was, later, revealed to be roughly around $3.1 million.
