BTS’s latest single “Black Swan” was released on January 17 from its new album Map of the Soul: 7, out Feb. 21, and it features performers from Slovenian contemporary dance troupe, the MN Dance Company. And on January 19, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook unveiled a reaction video to the art film in a new Bangtan Bomb episode uploaded to BTS‘s BANGTANTV YouTube channel.
“Wow. For sure, they have dancers’ physiques,” J-Hope said. “Every muscle is in motion,” Jimin commented. Since Jimin has a contemporary dance background, it was no surprise that the rest of the BTS boys mentioned it during their reaction video.
“Jimin, did you do that too? When you danced in school?” Suga asked. “Isn’t this different from what Jimin did?” J-Hope wondered. “Different genre?” RM asked as well. Jimin then responded, “It’s the same."
However, Jimin pointed out that he didn’t get the chance to reach MN Dance Company’s level. “This, though (referring to the troupe’s dancing skills and choreography) I never came close to anything like this,” he admitted.
After watching the whole “Black Swan” art film, RM shared that all he was thinking about was “Jimin and the six black swans.” Since the lead male dancer on the music video only had a pair of black pants on, Suga suggested Jimin should do that as well.
“Jimin, let’s get you shirtless,” Suga said. "I'm on it," Jimin replied.
BTS used to be very open with showing off a lot of skin in their music videos and live performances. In fact, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook lifted up their shirts in “We Are Bulletproof Pt. 2" and Jimin had a legendary abs-flaunting moment in “No More Dream.”
However, BTS doesn’t do those sexy moves anymore. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have decided to change their super sexy steps into a less scandalous choreography. While most ARMYs are already used to their new approach, some are missing their less conservative days.
Meanwhile, Suga has mentioned about their “Black Swan” choreography on their reaction video. Meaning, they have already practiced it and it’s certainly not the one that the MN Dance Company did in the music video.
But will Jimin go shirtless to recreate the “Black Swan” art film choreography soon? Since he was open to it, ARMYs can keep their hopes up.
