Justin Bieber has, recently, revealed that he is battling Lyme disease for quite some time now. The singer said he has been getting treatment for it and vowed to his fans that he will be backed in better shape. However, it doesn't stop tabloids to spread rumors that Bieber is concern that the disease would end his career.

The National Enquirer claimed in its latest issue that the "Yummy" singer is concerned that Lyme disease could ruin his career. The outlet alleged that the singer knows how it destroyed the career of other singers and he is afraid that it would happen to him too.

The outlet cited country singer-songwritter Kris Kristofferson as an example. Kristofferson was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2015 and, apparently, it caused his memory loss. The Enquirer also mentioned Shania Twain, who also suffers from the same illness and had to have throat surgery to repair her vocal cords after contracting the disease.

Though Bieber acknowledged that he had a tough couple of years, the Canadian singer said he is getting treatment for the disease. Bieber's post on Instagram where he revealed his condition doesn't also suggest that he is terrified of the possibility that the disease might ruin his career. In fact, the "Love Yourself" hitmaker made a promise to his fans that he will return better than ever.

Gossip Cop also debunked the tabloid's claim, saying Lyme disease didn't ruin the career of all artists who have it. Actor Alec Baldwin, Bieber's wife Hailey Baldwin's uncle, has been battling the same disease for years but he manages to keep his career.

Supermodel Bella Hadid also has it as well as singer Avril Lavigne. Former President George W. Bush received a Lyme disease diagnosis while he is still at the White House but it did not stop him from doing his duties as the head of the country.

Though it may cause debilitating pain to the patient, it doesn't mean it could end someone's career. As Bieber said, he is getting the right treatment for it.

Gossip Cop added that Bieber has a successful career already and he doesn't need to be terrified of where this disease will lead him. His latest single, "Yummy," is well received by fans and they have also expressed excitement for his next album.

Bieber has also received the distinction of being the first artist to have a single in the top five of Billboard's Hot R&B Songs and Hot Country Songs at the same time. "Yummy" did not debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It took the No. 2 spot, next to Roddy Ricch's "The Box."

However, "Yummy" debuted at No. 1 on Hot R&B Songs chart while Bieber's collaboration with Dan + Shay, titled "10,000 Hours," still reigns at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. This made Bieber the first artist to rule both charts simultaneously.
