Jimin is famously known as one of the members of BTS, the biggest boy band in the world right now. The popular 24-year-old is a singer, songwriter, and dancer.
However, before he became a part of the Big Hit Entertainment boy group, Jimin was known as that top dance student at Busan High School of Art. Now, his schoolmates reveal what they remember about him from their school days.
Four of Jimin’s former female schoolmates discussed how they felt about the BTS star when they were still students in Busan High School of Art. All of them pointed out that Jimin had always stood out from the rest.
“The first time I saw Jimin was at our school’s assembly hall,” one of the women recalled. “He stood out among the dance major students.”
She then noted that Jimin was never shy with showing off some skin and the other one revealed that the BTS star always had abs. “And you know their go-to move — taking their shirt off. He was doing that,” one said. “Jimin had abs since then,” the other schoolmate chimed in.
Although Jimin’s talent was undeniable since his school days, the women admitted that they didn’t expect him to reach the superstardom status that he has today. And because of his success, students at Busan High School of Art take pride in it and he became an inspiration to the younger ones.
“One of my students started to dance because of BTS Jimin,” one of the women said. “And the fact that Jimin attended this school made me proud.”
The women then showed regret that they didn’t get the chance to be close to Jimin when they were still attending the same school. “I regret not getting close to Jimin at the time even though I didn’t know him well,” one of them confessed. “Maybe we all ran into Jimin at least once,” another once noted.
Although Jimin had to learn his skill in singing from scratch, the BTS star had always been an extraordinary dancer before joining BTS. In fact, when Big Hit Entertainment revealed him to the world on January 12, 2013, he was introduced as simply as that — a dancer.
“The new member is on the blog, haha. It’s a dancer this time,” BTS’ official Twitter account tweeted at the time. A video of the young Jimin dancing was also shared to BANGTANTV’s YouTube channel.
Meanwhile, BTS is set for an interview and performance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Jan. 28.
