Last week, Queen Elizabeth II, along with the senior members of the British Royal Family, including Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince Harry, had a "crisis talk" in Sandringham to finalize the Sussex couple's exit. It was only after then when the "Megxit" deal concluded, which prompted the Duke's return in Canada.

Shortly after the serious discussions, the core details of the royal exit deal was revealed. On top of the list, it said that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will no longer be able to use their HRH titles in the future.

While Queen Elizabeth II retained these styles to the couple, they will cease to use such titles. Instead, they will be known as Harry, the Duke of Sussex and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.

It was also shared that the youngest son of Prince Charles will be stripped down of his military titles. Accordingly, he will not be allowed to wear his decorated uniforms anymore at any official royal event.

As per Express UK, this was not the initial plan of the Sussex couple. What they only wanted is to step down as senior royals and become "financially independent." This is why several royal experts and commentators deemed Queen Elizabeth II as "heartless."

Royal biographer, Nigel Cawthorne, said in a statement that the Palace's decision to strip these titles down is "unnecessarily harsh." The Sussex couple does not stand accused of committing a "heinous criminal act." So, the decision made by the monarch is "mean-spirited," he added.

He also deemed the whole decision as a "graceless response." He then said that it only shows that"no lessons" have been learned from Prince Charles and Princess Diana's divorce many decades ago.

Although some individuals seem to agree with the royal biographer's thoughts, a royal commentator explained, on the other hand, that Queen Elizabeth II did not strip Meghan and Harry of their HRH titles. As clarified by Chris Ship, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex still have their HRH titles. However, they will not use them.

Other royal sources, though, were claiming that the Queen also considered removing their Duke and Duchess titles. This narrative was shared by Page Six after the conclusion of the Megxit deal.

Based on claims, Queen Elizabeth II tried to strip the Sussex couple of the Duke and Duchess titles as well. Thankfully, though, Prince Charles was said to decide against it as this would look "petty," the sources shared.
