British officials are set at meeting this Tuesday to discuss the inclusion of Huawei technologies in establishing a 5G network in the region. The British prime minister was said to be under pressure from the United States after it suggested that allowing such equipment to operate in London could compromise the country's business dealings with the US.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson was reported to be meeting senior ministers of Britain to discuss whether the state would consider using Huawei technological equipment in establishing a 5G network for the future. It was revealed that last week, senior British officials had proposed to the state leader that Britain should welcome Huawei into its industry, reported ABS-CBN.

Despite the suggestion, such officials also opted for a limited role from the Chinese tech giant. The term used was a 'calculated compromise' wherein British operations could utilize the Huawei equipment but must comply with tough restrictions imposed by Washington.

Last Monday, Johnson said that it could be possible that Britain could keep up with new technology without taking the risk of exposure. According to the US, the use of Huawei tech could jeopardize the country's intelligence sharing with other nations.

Johnson then added that he might not compromise security or relationships with Britain's allies such as the US. However, he also claimed that the meeting would come up with a solution where both Huawei and US' objectives would be served for the benefit of Britain.

According to the deputy director-general of the Royal United Services Institute and advisor to parliament's joint committee on national security strategy Malcolm Chalmers, there has been a disconnected between political and technical conversations regarding the Huawei issue. He claimed that it is hard for the nation to move forward with the uncertainty.

According to Reuters, the 5G technologies have been the most recent development and biggest innovations since the Internet. The report claimed that the service offers consumers and businesses faster data speeds that could improve their operations and interactivity between persons.

At present, there exists a split opinion in Britain over Huawei's role in 5G networks including other capitals in Europe. Politicians allegedly weighed that the US-led arguments against profitable trade ties with China may complicate the use of Huawei tech in Britain and cloud the country's allegiance.

Last year, before former Prime Minister Theresa May left her post, she allegedly blocked Huawei from engaging in core parts of 5g network developments but would give restricted access to non-core parts.
