BTS’s road to superstardom status is such a good and inspiring story to tell. Big Hit Entertainment knows that a lot of people are interested in seeing the journey of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook into a K-Drama, so the company is giving fans what they want.

The BTS-inspired K-Drama was already mentioned last year. Now, Bang Si Hyuk gave an update about it at the 2020 “Big Hit Company Corporate Briefing With The Community” on February 4.

“We have news about the drama series. We said in our last corporate talk that we are preparing a drama based on the Bangtan Universe,” he said. “We are working together with Chorokbaem Media. The creators of popular dramas, such as My Mister, W, Memories of Alhambra, Another Miss Oh, and Oh My Ghost, and writer Kim Su-jin, whose works include Dazzling.”

Is BTS ready to take over the world of K-drama? It’s nothing unusual when celebrities try to do something outside their norm. Some singers tried acting, and some actors tried singing. Some became models, endorsers, hosts, and even athletes. So, it wouldn’t be a complete shock if RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook would branch out and try starring in K-dramas. In fact, V was a part of a highly successful South Korean television series, Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth.

However, it was previously reported that the BTS K-Drama will be based on BTS’s younger selves, so RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook will not act in it.

“It’s a great coming of age story about how seven boys in the Bangtan Universe met and embarked together on a journey of healing,” Bang Si Hyuk shared. “We hope you’ll look forward to the drama, expected to be released in the second half of 2020 or first half of 2021.”

As the story progresses, the characters may grow older as well. So will RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook stars finally be in the BTS K-Drama? For now, it’s still uncertain.

But just in case the boys will be appearing in the upcoming BTS K-Drama, they already did a warm-up back in 2018. During their BTS NEWS in LA broadcast, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook recorded a K-drama after failing in their mission. As a penalty for BTS’s “BEHIND MISSON” game, each of them had to read a cheesy line from K-dramas.

The staff prepared seven lines for the BTS members to choose from. Having a background in acting, V nailed the challenge like a true professional. However, it is worth noting that all the boys did well.
