The 2020 United States Presidential Election will take place this November. While there is no official list of candidates yet, it was recently announced that Donald Trump will seek re-election with the help of his party and his family, especially his wife, Melania Trump.

It is not surprising, though, as he is the incumbent President. What made the announcement quite surprising was that the First Lady will reportedly be active for the campaign.

According to Express UKMelania Trump will play a much "bigger role" in the upcoming race than she did in 2016. As it happened, it was said that she "shied away" from the campaign because of her son, Barron.

The reports also noted how the now-First Lady was repeatedly criticized for this dynamic. Some former aides even shared that she used to "turn down" all of the requests for her appearance during the campaign period. As a result of her recurring refusal, Ivanka Trump, who is now deemed to be the First Daughter, was said to take her place instead.

It is also worth noting that Donald Trump's wife did not immediately come to the White House after the inauguration. Reports previously revealed that it took a few months before Melania and Barron officially lived with the President inside the White House.

This time, however, the publication reported that things will be different for the First Lady. Based on her recent announcement, it was shared with the public that she now intends to help her husband in the upcoming election.

As per Daily MailMelania Trump will "headline" two fundraisers come the spring season. These were said to "jointly benefit" Donald Trump's campaign as well as the Republican Party in its entirety.

The first fundraising event was said to be held in Beverly Hills on March 18. This will be shortly followed by the second event on March 25, which is set to happen at Mar-a-Lago.

National Press Secretary for the Trump campaign, Kayleigh McEnany told publications as well that the First Lady is a "sought-after" voice from the Trump family. She also stated that Melania Trump has become an icon today, who has the "overwhelming approval" of the American people.

It was then attested that she has the ability to "humanize" the United States President, which is a very helpful "skill," as seen in the previous First Ladies, like Laura Bush and Michelle Obama. A source, who is reportedly familiar with the strategy of the campaign, further shared that this is the skill that Melania intends to use as the campaign "ramps up."
