Jennifer Lawrence was last seen on the big screen in the 2019's movie Dark Phoenix. Rumors have it that it could take time before she will do a film again as the actress allegedly asking for a huge payment before signing her name for another movie.

OK! published a headline that reads, "JLaw's Money Grab," on its latest issue along with a claim that the newlywed actress is demanding a fat paycheck before taking any new movie. The publication said Lawrence has been making demands despite the underwhelming performance of her last two films, Red Sparrow and Dark Phoenix, in the box office.

"These days her $18 million asking price has become her own worst enemy...She refuses to back down. She thinks she's worth every dime and has the trophies to prove it," the outlet cited its source as saying.

Lawrence won an Oscars in 2012 for Best Actress for her performance as a depressed young widow in Silver Linings Playbook. She also took home the Best Actress awards at the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild for her role in the same movie.

Gossip Cop, however, said the tabloid's claim is baseless. The outlet noted that JLaw is returning to making indie movies on which she started her career. It cited as an example the upcoming movie of Lawrence which is a low-budget drama, Red, White, and Water.

Also, the Oscar-winner actress is also set to produce and star in the crime drama Mob Girl, which is based on a true-crime novel by journalist Teresa Carpenter. According to Gossip Cop, there is no major studio attached to Mob Girl , and Lawrence is developing an adaptation through her production company, Excellent Cadaver.

The Hunger Games actress has formed her production company, Excellent Cadaver, in 2018. Since then, they have been developing a variety of projects, many of which are smaller dramas. This proved that Lawrence is not after making money but instead focusing on her passion for film making.

Jennifer Lawrence was once the highest-paid actress in the world. In 2015 and 2016, Forbes named her as the world's highest-paid actress with annual earnings of $52 million and $46 million, respectively. She dropped to third and fourth places during the next two years with earnings of $24 million and $18 million, respectively. In the 2019 list, Lawrence was no longer on the top 10 world's highest-paid actress.

The Silver Linings Playbook star married art gallery director Cooke Maroney in October 2019 after a year of dating. The wedding was reportedly attended by some A-list celebrities, including Adele, Kris Jenner, Cameron Diaz, Nicole Richie, and Joel Madden.
