The sequel to 2016 monster hit zombie movie has finally released its first poster to the delight of fans who have been waiting for a long time. Entitled Peninsula, the film will be released sometime this summer.

While the full details remain vague, here are all the details we have gathered about Train to Busan 2: Peninsula

Writer and Director. Writer and director Yeon Sang Ho, who helmed the first Train to Busan movie will also take charge of the second movie with an all-new cast of characters.

Not a Sequel. According to the director Yeon Sang Ho, Peninsula will not be a sequel to Train to Busan. Rather it will be set in the same universe as the first movie. Storyline. Peninsula will revolve around a former soldier named Jung Suk, who managed to escape overseas at the height of the zombie apocalypse but is tasked to return to the zombie-infested peninsula. He will meet survivors who will lead to safety.

Cast. Among the cast members of the new story is veteran actor Gang Dong Won, who previously starred in Ilang: The Wolf Brigade, Master and Vanishing Time: The Boy Who Returned. Joining him in the cast is Lee Jung Hyun, who previously took on a role in Battleship Island. Other members of the cast include Lee Re, Kwon Hae-Hyo, Kim Min-Jae, Koo Gyo-Hwan, Kim Do-Yoon, and Lee Ye-Won.

First Posters. Two posters have been released by the production. the first shows a silhouette of a lone man standing in the middle of a barren wasteland. The second poster features actor Gang Dong Won and his co-star trying to regroup as a horde of zombies prepares to attack. The posters indicate that the film takes place four years after the original movie.

Release Date. Peninsula has not yet released an official release date but is reportedly eyeing a schedule within the summer of 2020.

Other Films in the Train to Busan universe. There are two movies that have been released within the Train to Busan Universe. The first film is an animated movie entitled Seoul Station. Also written and directed by Yeon Sang Ho, it talks about the origins of the disease wherein the first victim goes berserk at the Seoul Station and starts the spread of pandemonium in the area. The second film which stars Gong Yoo and Ma Dong Seok, as two men who try to save their families inside a zombie-infested train headed for Busan.
